The first accident happened at approximately 9:05 a.m. when a 1999 Mitsubishi Montero driven by Lucas Walsh, 23, of Oxford, traveling southbound on Route 31 reportedly failed to stop for a red light at the intersection with Halstead Street, police said.
MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT WITH INJURIES, 9:05 a.m. Oct. 18. A 1999 Mitsubishi Montero driven by Lucas Walsh, 23, of Oxford, was traveling Route 31 South when Walsh failed to stop for a red light at the intersection with Halstead Street. The Walsh vehicle collided with a 2010 Jeep Liberty driven by Erin McCaffrey, 24, of Oxford, as McCaffrey’s vehicle was emerging from Halstead Street on a green light, police said. The Walsh vehicle overturned, the airbags in both vehicles deployed and both had to be towed from the scene. Walsh and McCaffrey were taken to the Hunterdon Medical Center for treatment of apparent minor injuries. Walsh was charged failure to stop at a red light.
